Lockport woman robbed at gunpoint in Allentown

A Town of Lockport woman was robbed at gunpoint on Allen Street early Saturday by men who also tried to force her to withdraw more money from her bank, Central District police reported.

The woman said she was in front of Mulligan’s Brick Bar trying to retrieve a lost cellphone about 4:45 a.m. when two men approached her and said they would try to help her, but they called three numbers without success in making contact with anyone who could help her get into the building.

As the woman was walking to her car, the men asked for a ride and entered the vehicle without permission. The man behind her demanded money, grabbed her hair and put a gun to her head. The woman surrendered $20 to $30 but as she opened her wallet, the robber noticed her automatic teller machine card and forced her to drive to a Bank of America ATM at 633 Delaware Ave.

Despite several attempts, the woman was unable to withdraw more money. The gunman then tried to grab her car keys, but he took them back and ran across the street to the Holiday Inn while the suspects fled on foot.
