Firefighters battle two morning blazes in city

Buffalo firefighters battled two fires in the city on Friday morning.

A blaze at a two-story home at 53 Bird Ave., reported at 9:40 a.m., caused $45,000 in damages.

A fire at a two-story home at 856 Woodlawn Ave., reported at 10:45 a.m., caused $50,000 in damages.

Both homes appeared to be occupied, the fire department said, but no injuries were reported. The causes of the fires were under investigation.
