Robbery is thwarted by a Good Samaritan

NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls man said he was waiting at a bus stop at Ninth Street and Pine Avenue on Wednesday morning when he felt a hand inside his front pocket that removed his cell phone.

He said a dark-skinned man, about 20 years old, 5’10” tall, 150 pounds and wearing dark blue jeans and a dark blue sweatshirt grabbed the phone and ran south into an alley on Ninth Street.

But he said an unknown man ran after the thief, retrieved the phone and returned it to him. The Good Samaritan had left before police arrived.

Officers searched the area for the suspect with negative results.
