Both sides share the blame for today’s hypersensitivity
George Will is spot on in his criticism of the absurdity and hypersensitivity on display over “Costumegate” at Yale University. But he’s spot off in placing the blame entirely within the domain of progressivism.
Progressivism’s excesses to the left are a direct response to conservatism’s excesses to the right, particularly its inability to escape such bedrock prejudices as misogyny, bigotry and xenophobia that riddle its ideology.
As far as the malleability of human nature argument is concerned, it is a good thing man can change. It offers what little hope there is in chaos that abounds.
