EVENT: Woodcock Brothers 3-Year Anniversary Party and New Beer Release
Woodcock Brothers Brewing Company
638 Lake St., Wilson
(716) 333-4000

Woodcock Brothers Brewing invites everyone to come celebrate its third anniversary on Nov. 14 and enjoy a new version of its most popular beer, XPA 4.0. The “X” stands for experimental, which indicates new recipes or ingredient combinations used in the brewing process.

Head Brewer Matt Redpath selected Simcoe, Waimea and Summit hops for the construction of XPA 4.0, trio that imparts an abundance of flavors, including passionfruit, pine, tangelo, citrus and a touch of spiciness.

XPA 4.0 contains 6.4-percent alcohol by volume (ABV) and a moderate amount of bitterness. People who enjoy hop-forward beers will find this beer appealing.

There will be free chicken chili available on the patio starting at noon, and other food and drink specials throughout the day. Music will be provided by the JT Blues Band, performing live 7 to 10 p.m.

Coles has 36 taps devoted to craft beer. On Nov. 21, for the first time, all of those will be devoted to beer from one brewery: Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, one of California's most successful breweries. A full tap list will be announced soon, but barrel-aged offerings and other rare beers are expected to be available. Sierra Nevada produces a wide range of beer styles, so this event will satisfy curious and experienced craft-beer drinkers.
