Chef Brad Rowell taking over Tina's space in Hamburg

Tina’s Italian Kitchen in Hamburg will be followed by a restaurant owned by Brad Rowell, the current chef at Elm Street Bakery in East Aurora.

The Grange Community Kitchen will be a “seasonally-driven neighborhood bistro,” said Rowell. “That’s our goal.” He will own the restaurant with his wife Caryn, who has been a supervisor at Elm Street Bakery.

Tina’s Italian Kitchen will operate in the 22 Main St. space until Dec. 15 [more on Tina's closing here]. Rowell said he has signed an agreement to take over the space after that, and will be working on a spring 2016 opening. It will be a homecoming of sorts for the Rowells, who are Frontier High School graduates.

Rowell was hired by Elm Street Bakery nearly two years ago to start dinner service at the thriving bakery.

“We wish Brad well in his new endeavor,” said Elm Street Bakery owner Jay DePerno. “He has agreed to help us transition to whatever our evening service morphs into. Whatever we do, we’re going to do it right.”
