HARMONY – A Harmony man was charged with drunken driving after a hit-and-run incident that injured a teenager walking along Weeks Road early Saturday.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 2:51 a.m. to Weeks Road in Harmony, where they learned a white pickup struck a 16-year-old boy, then drove north on Weeks Road. Deputies tracked down the pickup and its driver a short time later.
Wayne Y. Miller, 19, was charged with driving while intoxicated, vehicular assault, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He was arraigned in Sherman Town Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
The victim, from North East, Pa., was not identified. He was airlifted to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
