LOCKPORT – Joan G. Aul, an administrative vice president of M&T Bank, was elected chairwoman of the Greater Lockport Development Corp., the city’s economic development agency, at a special board meeting Thursday.
Aul, who joined the board in 2013, replaces James T. Macaluso, who is retiring from the board as of the end of this week. Macaluso also is retiring from his job as an audiologist at Lockport Hearing Consultants. He has served 28 years on the development agency’s board, the last two years as chairman.
Brian M. Smith, GLDC president and the city’s director of planning and development. said Aul will be able to continue serving on the board of the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency, which she joined in April 2014.
Smith said the board, which has an authorized strength of 13 members, is down to nine.
