Tops Markets completes another store makeover

Tops Friendly Markets has completed a $1.1 million remodel of its store in Big Flats, near Elmira.

The 42,000-square-foot store has an expanded product selection, including added natural and organic items. It has added freshly-fried donuts to its bakery department and configured a Tops Brew Market with an expanded selection of local and national craft beers.

The store now sports Tops’ latest decor package, which features wood-grained produce cases, track lighting in the produce section and new signs and LED lighting throughout the store. The store has a new Carry-Out Cafe with freshly-prepared foods, grab-and-go items and soups, as well as an olive and antipasto bar. It also added four self-checkout lanes.

The upgrades are part of Tops’ multi-million-dollar capital improvement plan which will refresh all 164 of the company’s stores.
