Niagara Falls man pleads guilty to child pornography

Jeremy Scouten, 37, of Niagara Falls, pleaded guilty Tuesday before Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny to possession of child pornography. U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. said he faces a prison term of up to 10 years and a fine of up to $250,000 when he is sentenced next March 9.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Stephanie Lamarque and Kathleen A. Lynch said agents seized Scouten’s computer during a raid Aug. 6, 2012, at Scouten’s home.

The prosecutors said a forensic examination of the computer revealed about 200 images and 17 videos of child pornography, some involving children under age 12 depicted in violent situations.
