NORTH TONAWANDA – The 19th annual Beaujolais dinner and auction is one of the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier’s largest events to benefit domestic violence services in the Tonawandas.
The gala fundraiser on Nov. 13 will be held at the Buffalo Launch Club, 503 East River Road, Grand and begins at 5:30 p.m. with an auction preview, followed by a gourmet dinner with Beaujolais wines at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person or $420 for a table of eight.
Some of the items include airline tickets for two, passes to Disney World; Sea World and local favorites, such as the Chautauqua Institute, Webb’s Captain’s Table, as well as signed sports items, including an autographed Dan Carpenter football, Sabres tickets, and much more. WYRK radio DJ Dale Mussen will serve as the celebrity auctioneer.
In addition to the live auction there will also be a silent auction on an array of baskets.
The funds raised will help the KidStrong Program, which offers counseling to kids who have witnessed domestic violence in their lives.
YWCA of the Niagara Frontier merger this past summer included the YWCAs of Lockport, Niagara Falls and the Tonawandas, but each site remains open and nothing has changed in their mission, said Chief Operating Officer Kathleen A. Granchelli.
“Domestic violence in [Tonawandas] and other communities has not lessened, but in fact has increased. This fundraiser supports domestic violence services and especially children who have seen violence,” said Granchelli.
