The Amerks ended their four-game losing streak with a shootout win over Syracuse Sunday night. Nick Baptiste scored his first pro career. Phil Varone and Jason Akeson scored in regulation then both tallied in the shootout as Rochester won, 4-3. Cal O’Reilly added two assists in the win. Andrey Makarov earned his first win of the season making 30 saves.
Western Hockey League
Giorgio Estephan (Lethbridge) – Has 11 points with nine assists during a six-game winning streak for the Hurricans.
Brendan Guhle (Prince Albert) – In six games with the Raiders since returning to his major junior team, Guhle has a goal and four assists.
Brycen Martin (Saskatoon) – Had a goal in the Blades 4-3 overtime win over Kootenay on Friday. It was the second goal of the season for the defenseman.
Devante Stephens (Kelowna) – Was a plus-four combined in two weekend games and picked up his second assist of the season in a 5-2 win for the Rockets over Prince George on Friday.
Ontario Hockey League
Eric Cornel (Peterborough) – Has three goals and 11 points in 13 games for the Petes.
Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
Vaclav Karabacek (Baie-Comeau) – The winger has four goals and five points in 11 games for Drakkar – the last place team in the QMJHL.
William Borgen (St. Cloud State) – It was a tough weekend for the Huskies who were swept by Qunnipiac. Borgan had four shots in a 4-1 loss on Saturday after being a minus-2 on Friday.
Christopher Brown (Boston College) – Picked up an assist in the Eagles’ 5-0 win over Colorado College on Saturday. B.C. has won its last three games via shutout.
Ivan Chukarov (UMass) – Had an assist on the power play, game-tying goal for UMass against New Hampshire. The Minutemen trailed, 6-1, then scored five goals to earn the Hockey East tie.
Hudson Fasching (Minnosota) – Had three goals and an assist to finally get on the board this season and help the Gophers to their first wins in a weekend sweep of Northeastern.
Anthony Florentino (Providence) – Had a goal and an assist for the Friars in a 2-1 win over Ohio State on Friday.
Connor Hurley (Notre Dame) – No points for the sophomore as the Irish played Minnesota-Duluth to a pair of ties.
Jason Kasdorf (Rensselaer) – Made 23 saves but let in four goals to Michigan on Saturday. The Wolverines added an empty-netter for a 5-2 win..
Cal Peterson (Notre Dame) – Combined for 78 saves as the Irish tied Minnesota-Duluth in two games. Peterson allowed three goals each game.
Judd Peterson (St. Cloud State) – Scored the first two goals of the weekend but the Huskies dropped a pair to Quinnipiac. The sophomore has five goals in six games.
Jonas Johansson (Almtuna IS) – Through 14 games he has a 2.61 goals against average and .904 save percentage.
Victor Olofsson (MODO) – Has 10 points with three goals in 13 games.
Gustav Possler (MODO) – Has three goals and three assists in 13 games.
