Great Lakes Medical Imaging appointed Sarah Glenn-Smith chief executive officer. Glenn-Smith previously served as the chief operating officer for PLS 3rd Learning, and the chief administrative officer of The Exigence Group. She is a graduate of California State University at San Bernardino and received her executive MBA at the University at Buffalo.

Deloitte & Touche promoted Jackson Trostle to senior manager. Trostle, a CPA, joined the firm in September 2007. He is a graduate of the University at Buffalo. Also, the firm promoted Rob Cavallari Jr. and Andrea Sherry to managers. Cavallari, a CPA, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree from Canisius College. He has been with the firm since September 2010. A CPA, Sherry joined the firm full time in September 2010. She earned her bachelor’s degree and MBA at UB.

Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo appointed Jessica Mabie manager of projects and operations. She will coordinate and plan for the $272 million relocation of Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Mabie is a UB graduate with a master’s from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

UBMD Internal Medicine welcomed Dr. Adil Shujaat, a pulmonologist, to its practice. Shujaat earned his medical degree at King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, completed his residency at St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals of Columbia University.

The Ross Eye Institute welcomed Dr. Allison McLaughlin to its team of eyecare physicians. McLaughlin received her doctor of optometry from New England College of Optometry and earned a bachelor’s degree from Siena College. She completed residency in Ocular Disease  at  Seidenberg and Protzko Eye Associates in Havre de Grace, Md.

PLS 3rd Learning recently named Michael Davis senior front end developer. Davis received his bachelor’s degree from Canisius College and was most recently lead front end developer at Aurora Consulting Group.

Brock, Schechter & Polakoff promoted Melissa Doyle, a CPA, to in-charge senior accountant and Matthew Aldinger, a CPA, and Joseph Samer to senior accountants. Doyle, received her bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo. She has been with the firm for seven years. Aldinger is a graduate of Canisius College, where he received his bachelor’s degree and MBA. Samer received his MBA from John Carroll University. He has been with the firm for two years.

22nd Century Group appointed Gregg M. Gellman director of business development and regulatory affairs. Gellman is a graduate of the University at Buffalo.

The Buffalo Medical Group welcomed Dr. Shannon Poupalos to its primary care department as an internal medicine physician. Poupalos received her medical degree from UB’s School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and is a graduate of the University of Rochester. She completed an internal medicine residency with the University at Buffalo.

Evans Bank appointed Kyle Aronica a banking officer and branch manager of the Williamsville office. Aronica served as a branch manager for Northwest Savings Bank in Amherst. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Houghton College.

Christian Central Academy appointed Thad Gaebelein head of school. Gaebelein earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and master’s degree from Vanderbilt University. Previously, Gaebelein was headmaster of The Stony Brook School and The Knox School, and commandant at the Valley Forge Military Academy and College.

AAA Western and Central New York appointed Elizabeth Carey Public and Government Affairs manager. Carey has more than 20 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, social media, television and radio broadcasting. She holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the SUNY Buffalo State.

Catapult Partners appointed Julianne M. Yates director of learning and development and Paige D. Gullotti director of operations and client solutions. Yates is a graduate of SUNY Empire State College. Gullotti has a master’s degree from Medaille College.
