GUGINO, Rosanne

Gugino - Rosanne Age 62, of Williamsville, NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at her second home in Tampa, FL. She was born in Tonawanda, NY, and attended Kenmore East High School. She was a graduate of The State University of New York at Buffalo Law School. She also received her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Prior to her career in law, Ms. Gugino was a Registered Nurse, working and teaching in Buffalo and Cleveland, OH as a Nurse Clinician. She handled complex and catastrophic injury cases and achieved numerous multi-million dollar verdicts on behalf of injured children, women with breast cancer, surgical patients, and the elderly. She also successfully represented veterans in medical treatment and care cases against the United States Veterans' Administration. Ms. Gugino tried cases in New York State Supreme Court, New York State Court of Claims, and United States District Court. Professional affiliations and interests spanned both law and medicine. She was a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers' Association, New York State Academy of Trial Advocacy, Board of Advisors of the American Cancer Society, and the Gratwick Society of Roswell Park Cancer Institute. She was an attorney with the law firm Brown Chiari LLP at the time of her death. Previously, she practiced with the offices of Paul William Beltz, LLC. As a nurse, she practiced and was passionate about neonatal care at Rainbow Babies in Cleveland, OH, and at Women's and Children's Hospital of Buffalo. She loved spending time with her family in Buffalo and in Tampa. She was an avid traveler with many trips to Europe. She was fluent in French and loved to talk to Parisians in their native language. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rita and Frank Gugino; and brother, Frankie Gugino. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Head; daughters, Megan Toufexis and Andrea Esch; grandchildren, Chloe, Zach, Owen, Olivia, Monroe and Audrey; and brother, Martin Gugino. A Memorial Mass will take place on October 29 at 6:00 PM at St. Gregory the Great in Williamsville, NY.
