Buffalo woman arrested, accomplice sought in tire thefts

TOWN OF NIAGARA – A Buffalo woman was arrested and an accomplice is being sought in connection with a series of tire thefts from cars in the Military Road lot of Joe Cecconi Chrysler, Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies reported.

Brittany E. Lloyd, 19, was arrested about 3 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies has been called to assist a Town of Niagara police officer who saw a man stealing tires off new cars at the dealership. Lloyd was stopped on Fashion Outlet Boulevard driving a car with Ohio dealer plates, deputies said.

Lloyd’s driver’s license was suspended and she also had an outstanding arrest warrant in Cheektowaga. depuities said. A search of the car revealed tools including two tire irons, an impact driver and a torque wrench, which may have been used in the tire thefts, deputies added.

Lloyd was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and was later turned over to authorities in Cheektowaga. The car, which deputies suspect was stolen, was impounded pending further investigation.
