LOCKPORT – A Newfane man pleaded guilty in Niagara County Court Friday to assaulting his 5-month-old daughter.
Skylar R. Crisco, 20, of Bayview Station, admitted to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree assault and could be sentenced to as long as four years in prison when he returns before County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III Dec. 14.
Deputy District Attorney Holly E. Sloma said the girl was slammed down and struck or slapped in the face Aug. 25 in Crisco’s home. The girl suffered hemorrhaging in her eyeballs and was bruised around the eye sockets. Sloma said the girl does not seem to have suffered any permanent damage and is now in the custody of her mother.
