Grain elevators provide ideal canvas for public art
The public art project at HarborCenter should be extended, with city and/or county financial support, to the iconic grain elevators along the Buffalo River and Outer Harbor. The elevators offer unique panoramic canvases for the many talented regional artists who have constructed beautiful murals throughout the city.
The radiant blue six-pack at RiverWorks illustrates the potential of such a project. Buffalo’s grain elevators are much more than derelicts; they are awe-inspiring opportunities for a city on the rise.
