Driver hospitalized following crash in Buffalo

An unidentified male motorist was in Buffalo Police custody at Erie County Medical Center on Wednesday night being treated for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries suffered when his car crashed into a house in the 100 block of Zittel Street at about 3 p.m.

Police spokesman Michael DeGeorge said the motorist – who allegedly struck about a half-dozen houses and a number of parked vehicles before the crash – will be charged with a number of offenses after the Buffalo police accident investigation unit completes its inquiry.

According to an initial estimate by Buffalo Fire Department crews sent to the scene, the driver’s actions resulted in damages totaling at least $27,000 to houses and vehicles.
