ICE SKATING: Learn to skate classes for hockey players and figure skaters will be starting the week of Nov. 16. Classes will be held at the Niagara University’s Dwyer Arena in Lewiston on Mondays (5:15-5:45 p.m.), Wednesdays (6-6:30 p.m.) and Fridays (4:55-5:25 p.m.) and at Hockey Outlet in Wheatfield on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-5 p.m. Classes are for ages 4 to adult. RUNNING: The Buffalo Philharmonic AC will be dedicating a bench in honor of the late Jesse Kregal, the founder of the club, on Saturday. A ceremony will be held at the bench, which will be located on the ring road about 100 yards north of “The Meadow Cafe.” It will begin at 11:30 a.m. A reception will be held at the Lodge in the park near Parkside Ave. following the ceremony.

SOCCER: The Hamburg Monarchs soccer club will be conducting registration for its indoor house league running from November 2015 through March 2016. Four age group leagues (4-year olds, 6-and-under, 8-and-under, and 10-and-under) will be formed. SOFTBALL: The Amherst Lightning 14U Reid Showcase Travel Team is looking for an ‘01 utility 2B/3B or possible pitcher for a high level travel showcase team.
