Grand Island woman discharged from ECMC after Monday accident

A Grand Island woman injured Monday night when a barn door collapsed on her as she was on an ATV has been identified as Amy Lou Taylor, 45.

Taylor was treated for upper body injuries and discharged Tuesday from Erie County Medical Center, authorities said.

Taylor had driven her ATV to a neighbor’s barn on Ransom Road near East River Road to check on horses she lodged there when the accident occurred about 8 p.m., authorities said.

Erie County Sheriff Deputy Chris Soluri, who is also deputy chief of the Grand Island Fire Company and a trained medic, arrived and worked with others to free her. Mercy Flight took her to ECMC. Fire company first responders and deputies also assisted at the scene.
