50 Cent headed to Orchard Park to promote vodka line

Sorry, DMX, but there's a bigger rap star coming to town.

Colonial Wine and Spirits at 3211 Southwestern Blvd. in Orchard Park has confirmed that 50 Cent will visit the store for a bottle signing to promote Effen Vodka from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 24.

50 Cent, famous for winning a laundry list of awards between 2003 and 2005, then claiming a Grammy for "Best Rap Performance by a Group of Duo" in 2010, has recently been in the news for filing for bankruptcy despite literally rolling around in $100 bills and ending his long-standing feud with fellow rapper The Game.

In terms of entertainment projects, 50's TV show "Power" returns to Starz Network for a third season, and he'll release a mixtape titled "Kanan" soon. To our knowledge, the last time 50 Cent performed in Western New York was June 29, 2003, at Darien Lake. [Edit: 50 Cent also played Darien Lake on Aug. 11, 2005, as well].

Effen Vodka, which means "smooth" in Dutch, partnered with 50 Cent earlier this year, and offers four different flavors of vodka: regular, black cherry, cucumber and Dutch raspberry.
