The Red Osier in Stafford, just east of Batavia in Genesee County, is well-known across Western New York as a restaurant that is worth the drive.
We may find out soon if that's still true when it has new owners.
The Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester reported today (subscription required to read story) that the prime rib haven on Route 5 is for sale.
The newspaper reported that Bob and Noreen Moore, who have owned the restaurant for 36 years, are seeking a buyer for the restaurant at 6492 E. Main St.
The restaurant will remain open until the business has been sold, although the sale of gift certificates has been suspended, the newspaper reported.
