A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the West Seneca Coalition Resource Center will be held Thursday morning at New Hope United Methodist Church.

The grand opening will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. in the church’s Fellowship Hall, 2846 Seneca St. – use the Delray Avenue entrance. Refreshments will be provided, and the first 25 guests Thursday will receive a free carbon monoxide detector courtesy of the Amanda Hansen Foundation.

Providers will present information about health insurance enrollment and health screenings, senior services and public benefits registration, among other things. The center is a collaboration of community-based organizations.

This week:

• A pancake breakfast honoring Gold Star Mothers will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Harvey D. Morin Post 2940, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 965 Center Road. Breakfast includes eggs, sausage, coffee or tea, orange juice and unlimited pancakes. Tickets are $7.50 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and younger. Proceeds benefit the VFW Auxiliary’s service goals in the local veteran community.

• A meeting of the town’s Ethics Committee begins at 5:45 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers at Town Hall. A regular Town Board meeting begins at 7 in the same location.

• The West Seneca School Board meets at 5:45 p.m. Monday in the Potters Road building, 675 Potters Road.

• A presentation on oil and landscape painting will be given by artist Tom Bojanowski at 7 p.m. Thursday at Burchfield Nature & Art Center, 2001 Union Road. Sponsored by the West Seneca Art Society, admission is free and refreshments will be served.
