The Amherst Youth & Recreation Department will sponsor “Magnificent Mammals & Spectacular Skeletons” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Noll Nature Center in Glen Park, Williamsville, between Cayuga Road and Mill St.

The event features exhibits about mammal bones, skulls and furs, as well as an opportunity to participate in some hands-on activities at crafts.

The event is free.

Elsewhere, the Amherst Town Board has agreed to place two crossing guards at the intersection of Dodge and Hopkins roads during the afternoon dismissal at Casey Middle School.

This week:

• The Williamsville Village Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Village Hall, 5565 Main St. A work session begins at 6 p.m.

• The Open Government Advisory Board meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Amherst Municipal Building, 5583 Main St., Williamsville.

• The Energy Conservation Citizens Advisory Committee meets at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Amherst Municipal Building.
