Sabres trim 12 from training camp roster

The Buffalo Sabres trimmed their roster by 12 on Sunday, sending those players to the Rochester Americans as the AHL team opens training camp Monday.

Loaned to the Amerks were forwards Justin Bailey, Nicholas Baptiste, Jean Dupuy, William Carrier, Daniel Catenacci, Justin Kea, Jack Nevins and Andrey Makarov. Forwards Jerry D’Amigo and Philip Varone were also loaned but must first clear waivers.

The Sabres released forward Matt Garbowsky and defenseman Matt Prapavessis from their tryouts. The two will report to Rochester for training camp.
