Buffalo police investigating complaints of illegal cigarette sales in a South Buffalo bar on Saturday arrested a man and charged him with criminal nuisance.
South District officers said they observed 17 individuals come and go from Mr. Sports Bar, 2340 Seneca Street, over about 90 minutes Saturday afternoon.
One of the individuals told police he bought two packs of cigarettes for $10 from Steven R. Adam, 41, who lives in the apartment over the bar.
Officers entered the tavern where Adam directed them to five cartons of cigarettes behind the bar inside a microwave, according to a report. A total of 980 cigarettes without a New York State tax stamp were recovered, police said.
