BATAVIA – A man who reportedly dropped off a cat along the side of a Genesee County road and drove away was charged with abandonment of an animal, sheriff’s deputies reported.
A witness reported the incident occurred Tuesday night in the area of Linwood and East Main roads in the Town of LeRoy, deputies said.
An investigation by Deputies Chad P. Cummings and Michael J. Lute led them to Joel L. Curts, 31, of East Main Road, LeRoy, who also was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Curts will be arraigned Nov. 4 in LeRoy Town Court.
The status of the cat couldn’t be learned Wednesday morning.
