An 18-year-old Buffalo man was arraigned in Erie County Court Wednesday morning on charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with a homicide on Aug. 30.
Rashawn Austin pleaded not guilty in the fatal shooting of Timothy Goodwin, 28. Austin allegedly shot Goodwin during an argument on Crossman Avenue near Heminway Street. Goodwin was pronounced dead at the scene. mAustin turned himself in at police headquarters three days after the incident.
In court on Wednesday, Assistant District Attorney Gary Hackbush said the prosecution’s proof in the case “is strong and significant.” Judge Kenneth F. Case ordered that Austin be held without bail and scheduled a pretrial conference for Oct. 14.
