Buffalo alternative weekly Artvoice is celebrating its 25th anniversary this weekend, with a major multi-media party at a long-overlooked site.
Artvoice’s “A Quarter in the Nickel City” will take place on Saturday at 1037 South Park Ave.. The site is the former home of Buffalo Color, a denim-dying facility that has stood unused for longer than Artvoice has existed.
The party will feature a host of bands, DJs, dancers, and visual artists, as well as a plethora of food vendors and food trucks. Scheduled to perform beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday are, among others, Soul Patch, Super Killer Robots, The Naturalists, Igloo Crew, Xotec, John “Sully” Patrick Sullivan, Rufus, Bacon, 3PO, Brian Milbrand and Chuck Tingley.
Tickets for the event are $10, and can be found now through Brownpapertickets.com.
