LEWISTON – Ten Niagara University students will join 1.5 million others hoping to get a glimpse of the Pope Francis when he visits Philadelphia later this week in the final leg of his North American journey.
The public will be able to be part of the journey as Niagara University’s Office of Campus Ministry posts updates throughout the trip on Twitter at @NUMinistry.
The students leave Friday for New Jersey, where they will stay with Niagara University alumni and will be accompanied by campus minister Ashley R. Serwon. The group will travel into the city by train on Saturday and Sunday during the pope’s visit and return to NU on Monday.
The pope’s visit to the United States is scheduled to start Tuesday in Washington, D.C., with visits to the White House and Capitol Hill planned, followed by travel to New York City on Friday, where he will address the United Nations.
