Wealthy Mideast countries ought to welcome refugees
Nightly we are exposed to the plight of refugees, and our hearts are torn as we witness families escaping their homeland desperate to settle into a safe and secure new home.
Yet in countries flush with oil wealth, we see huge construction projects that are manned with cheap, imported, temporary labor. Surely housing would be an easy addition to these massive building sprees.
Since they share cultural values, why not welcome their fleeing brethren with open arms, jobs and a permanent home? Or is brotherhood, like permanent labor, a foreign concept in those lands?
