KOVACHI - Peter It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Peter Kovachi. Peter died in the care of Hospice on Monday, September 14, 2015 at VA Medical Center, Buffalo, NY at the age of 44 years. Peter was a graduate of Kenmore West H.S. class of 1988 and continued his studies at the Institute of Aeronautics, Pittsburgh, PA and The University of Buffalo, NY, completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, placing him in the Who's Who Book among the universities and colleges 2003. Mr. Kovachi served as a decorated United States Marine Lance Corporal in Desert Storm in the Helicopter Squadron HMH-463 from 1988-1993 and after serving his country became a Flight Engineer for Northwest Airlines. In addition to his talents, Peter was also an inventor and during his years with Northwest Airlines he patented the Medical Sling Walker designed to help paralyzed patients exercise their extremities. Prior to his return to Buffalo, Peter was working as a Mechanical Engineer in the oil fields for The Great Plains Gas Compression Company, Watford, ND. Forever missed and in our hearts, your loving mother and sisters.
