Pizza Plant will start hiring staff for its new downtown location next week.
The restaurant at One Canalside, which faces the light rail tracks along the former Main Street, will need a crew of about 40, said owner Bob Syracuse.
Interview sessions have been set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19, and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 21, Syracuse said.
At present it looks like about eight to ten weeks until the restaurant opens, around the end of November, he said.
There’s still work to be done inside. “The floors are done, the bathrooms are being tiled,” he said last week. The kitchen ventilation system had yet to be installed, and the ceiling in the promenade around the restaurant has to be lowered, too. “That’s a week’s process, assuming there are no complications,” he said.
