Roots band Murder By Death set for Waiting Room

Bloomington, Ind. roots outfit Murder By Death is set to pay a visit to Waiting Room Wednesday evening.

The new year saw the brooding band release its latest record, the Kickstarter-funded “Big Dark Love,” quietly adding to a catalog that is approaching double-digit releases, something that should come in handy once the five-piece takes the stage.

With influences ranging from Neil Young to the Decemberists to Nick Cave, the Americana act should have no problem finding an audience in the Queen City.

Opening the night will be two local groups breaking in new material. The first, a new trio from Buffalo stalwart Sonny Baker, will continue his latest collection of tunes, “flesh it out,” while The Leones, the new project featuring former Crows and Jays frontman Justin Bachulak, will perform selections his forthcoming release, “Ghost in the City.”

Doors open at 7 p.m., and tickets are still available for $17 upon arrival. Further event info can be found here.
