One man has been charged in the armed robbery of a Harlem Road Rite Aid Store on the evening of Sept. 6, said West Seneca police.
James R. Crawley, 35, of Hayden Street is accused of entering the store at 789 Harlem around 6 p.m., displaying a handgun and demanding cash from a store clerk and a customer, reported Detective Captain Patrick A. Shea.
The arrest occurred Sunday night at Erie County Medical Center where Crawley had gone to seek treatment for a laceration, Shea said.
“A warrant had been issued and when he sought treatment at ECMC, hospital security discovered the outstanding warrant and they held him for us,” said Shea.
Crawley was arraigned Monday before West Seneca Town Justice Dale McCabe, who set bail at $50,000.
Crawley is due back in court at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
