The public is invited as the City of Tonawanda police and fire departments hold two joint ceremonies Friday to honor the firefighters, police officers, emergency medical technicians and civilians who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
The morning ceremony is at 9:30 a.m., while the evening ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Both ceremonies will take place on the front lawn of fire headquarters, 44 William St. Clergy from both departments, as well as city officials, police officers and firefighters will be present.
Refreshments will be served in fire headquarters after the ceremonies. The ceremonies will be moved inside in the event of rain.
