A 21-year-old Buffalo man, one of two suspects in the beating death of another man during a street robbery in March, was arraigned Tuesday in State Supreme Court.
George Mowers II of Gold Street is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and first-degree robbery in connection with the attack on Patrick Dennis, 64, of Peck Street. Investigators believe that Peck was attacked as he headed home one evening. His body was found outside. Temperatures that day reached into the low 20s.
Justice Russell P. Buscaglia accepted Mowers’ plea of not guilty and ordered him held without bail.
Mowers’ co-defendant, Derrick Kocol, 27, of Gatchell Avenue, will be arraigned on the same charges on Sept. 16 in Buscaglia’s court, according to Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III.
