BATAVIA – A Warsaw woman is accused of leaving a cat in a hot vehicle Sunday afternoon in Batavia, authorities said.
Marla E. Beachy, 44, was issued an appearance ticket for confinement of a companion animal in a vehicle during extreme temperatures, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The vehicle was in a parking lot at 4133 Veterans Memorial Drive and, although the outside temperature was estimated at 89 degrees, the interior temperature of the vehicle was placed at 116 degrees, police said.
Beachy is due in Batavia Town Court on Oct. 1. Police did not release details on the cat’s condition.
