Standoff with armed man ends without incident

A standoff with a man armed with a rifle ended without incident Saturday night at a home on the East Side, Buffalo police reported.

Officers, including the department’s SWAT team, were called early Saturday evening to the 100 block of Domedion Avenue, near Genesee Street, after the man fired the .22 long rifle out of his apartment window, police said.

The standoff ended just after 10:30 p.m. when Eric Kipler, 34, of the Domedion address was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment, police said.
