PITTSFORD -- Three things I'm looking for on Day One of Buffalo Bills training camp at St. John Fisher.
The look, feel of Camp Rex: It was the subject of a piece I wrote for our Training Camp Preview and it has been a big topic of conversation in and around the team. Exactly what will camp practices be like on the way of the most interesting coach ever hired by the Bills? In what ways will he try to build team chemistry, his top priority for the next three weeks?
The level of fan enthusiasm: We've been hearing all along that Bills fans haven't been so excited for a season in many years. So far, they've spoken loudly with their wallets in setting a record for season-tickets sales and selling out virtually the entire regular-season schedule. Now, let's see how that positive vibe translates into attendance for camp. How many of you will be playing hooky from work to be there for the first practice?
Covering my first Bills camp in 16 years: The last Bills camp I covered during my previous stint with The News was at Fredonia State University before the 1999 season. I made periodic visits to St. John Fisher while working for NFL.com, but this will be my first full camp here. The layout is considerably more convenient and much friendlier and interactive for fans. But one thing hasn't changed in 16 years: the Bills are still searching for that franchise quarterback.
Friday's schedule: 10 a.m.-noon.
Saturday's schedule: 10 a.m.-noon. Full camp schedule.
If you are headed to camp: Directions, where to stay, frequently asked questions and more.
