Special To The News
Burger. Bar. Are two words more made for each other? Throw in the chic patio scene and we call Soho one of summer’s super soirées.
SHBB features two patios – one street level for dining and observing the eclectic scenery. And then there is the rooftop where guests can drink, dine and dance the night away.
Bright umbrellas, warm wooden tables, chairs and lounge seating create a chic daytime atmosphere, but once the sun goes down, the space transforms into a sleek nighttime experience.
Overlooking the Chippewa Strip, the rooftop’s two bars keep patrons well imbibed. A special rooftop menu includes mini burgers, sliders, tacos and those addicting nibbling items like a Bloody Mary Shrimp Cocktail, Soho Loaded Nachos and its famous Truffle Tater Tots. Daily specials and happy hour are available up top, too.
Soho serves “adult milkshakes.” We love the naughtiness of ordering the Kentucky Caramel – made with small batch Woodford Reserve bourbon – to suck down while soaking in the rays.
The rooftop hosts Soho Live Acoustic Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. through the end of September. Friday and Saturday nights a DJ heats things up. A projection TV is used occasionally to show sports or by the DJ to keep things fun with interesting video clips.
“Bubbles & Brunch” runs from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday and is perfect for late risers. In addition to some breakfast and lunch food, there are fabulous mimosas to sip, including watermelon, strawberry and blood orange. For something a little stronger, the “Bloody Good” drink selections includes the original Soho Bloody Mary and spicier variations like the Wasabi Hamada.
