Western New Yorkers with fond memories of the Old Red Mill Inn will get the chance to buy a piece of the now defunct Williamsville restaurant.
Schultz Auctioneers will hold an on-site auction at the inn, 8326 Main Street, beginning at 10 a.m. Aug. 6. There will be a preview of items at 8 a.m. The contents up for grab include three train cars, the restaurant’s bar, memorabilia, restaurant equipment, antiques and dishes. All items are sold without reserve pricing, meaning there will be no minimum bid.
The Old Red Mill was a restaurant in the village for more than 50 years. The original structure was built in 1858 in connection with a 100-acre dairy farm. The restaurant’s Brick Bar was formerly the kitchen, and still featured a hand pump as its only source of water. The train cars and water wheel were added in the 1970s.
The restaurant, owned by Dan and Shellie Hanley, closed in June.
