Letter: Republicans have not learned from Romney miscalculation

Republicans have not learned from Romney miscalculation

It seems the Republican Party has a learning problem. It’s said, “The Democrats painted Romney as an elitist.”

They didn’t have to, he was one. Painting Mitt Romney as an elitist would be like painting an apple on an apple. The 47 percent remark was the only time in public he seemed genuine. And let’s not forget he made millions putting Americans out of work.

Why is the GOP wasting time trying to vilify Clinton when right-wing media has been doing it for over 20 years now? In fact they’ve been caught so many times in exaggerations and flat-out lies that any new negative stories about Clinton have as much credibility as Elvis, UFOs, the Loch Ness monster and Bigfoot sightings.

They’d be better off giving us reasons why we should vote for their candidate rather than telling us who we should vote against. It didn’t help them in the last two presidential elections.
