After stopping to help a possible disabled vehicle along the Niagara Thruway in the Town of Tonawanda, State Police charged its driver with driving while intoxicated.
A trooper stopped shortly before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to help the motorist. But Kevin L. Hensley, 60, of Amherst was found to be intoxicated and driving on a suspended license, police reported.
He was taken to the barracks in Buffalo, where his blood-alcohol content was found to be 0.18 percent, police said. Hensley was charged with misdemeanor counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation. He was turned over to a sober third party and issued tickets to appear Aug. 12 in Tonawanda Town Court.
