George Urban Boulevard road work completed

The completion of the 1.6 mile ungraded repaving of George Urban Boulevard between Harlem and Union roads in Cheektowaga which handles about 8,000 vehicles daily was celebrated Monday by Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz and Cheektowaga and county officials. The week-long project which was completed Friday is part of what Poloncarz called the $30 million in road work and road improvements he is overseeing throughout the county this year.

“Erie County’s infrastructure continues to be a top priority of my administration and George Urban Boulevard is a highly-traveled route that was in need of resurfacing to accommodate the large amount of vehicular traffic that uses this road every day and both residents and motorists alike will appreciate the smooth drive they’ll now experience here,” Poloncarz said a celebration at the boulevard.
