Town of Tonawanda
Seven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to Ken-Ton School District seniors with proceeds from the Town of Tonawanda Police Club’s 27th annual scholarship picnic, to be held Thursday in Lincoln Arena.
The picnic runs from 2 to 9 p.m., rain or shine, and is for people 21 and older. The price of a ticket covers food – which varies by time of day, and beer, wine and pop, which will be available throughout the day, as well as a ticket for a raffle for a flat-screen television.
Free cab rides home – courtesy of Kenmore Cab – will be available for those who need them.
The event also will include raffles, a disc jockey playing music and dancing.
Advance tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the front desk of police headquarters, 1835 Sheridan Drive. They’re $30 at the door.
