Buffalo man arrested on federal child porn charges

Daniel Sasiadek, 61, of Buffalo, was ordered to remain jailed by U.S. Magistrate Judge Hugh B. Scott Wednesday, hours after Sasiadek’s arrest on federal charges of possession of child pornography.

U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr., said Sasiadek, if convicted as charged, faces a federal prison term of up to 10 years and a fine of up to $250,000.

After an investigation by the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force, Buffalo and Cheektowaga police and the Niagara County sheriff’s office, a raid of Sasiadek’s home on July 16 led to the seizure of one DVD containing 46 images of child pornography, including some involving prepubescent children. Sasiadek subsequently admitted during a law enforcement interrogation that he occasionally viewed and saved child pornography on his desk-top computer and had deleted a lot of child porn from that computer years ago, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti.

Hochul said anyone with additional information about Sasiadek’s alleged activities is asked to contact the FBI at 716-856-7800.
