The City of Buffalo will hold its first public meeting on the proposed design for the intersection of Parkside and Florence avenues from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parkside Lodge in Delaware Park, 84 Parkside Ave.
The meeting will present an initial design concept for a redesigned intersection and solicit input from the public before construction gets underway.
Last summer, $450,000 in federal funding was awarded to the city to make safety and design improvements at the intersection. Initial work on the project got underway in June, city officials said, and a final design by project consultant Hatch Mott McDonald is expected by October.
Residents are urging the city to complete the work this year to improve the safety of residents and people who use the park, according to a statement of the Parkside Community Association.#
