Savarino Companies, a Buffalo based construction, development and property management firm, has relocated from 95 Perry St. to new offices on the fifth floor of 500 Seneca St. The firm has also added new management staff. Rick Diamond was appointed executive vice president. He will oversee the management of the firm’s construction operations. Luke Cusack was named property manager and will oversee the management of several properties, including 500 Seneca St.
Representing FedEx Corp. at the 2015 New York State Truck Driving Championship in Syracuse on June 11-13, Richard Decker, of 3 Reds Inc., based at the Cheektowaga FedEx Home Delivery station, finished first in the Step Van class at the 2015 New York State Truck Driving Championship in June in Syracuse. Decker will compete at the American Trucking Associations’ 2015 National Truck Driving Championship, Aug. 11 to 15 in St. Louis. In addition, each state winner will be recognized by FedEx as part of its safe driving initiative, the Chairman’s Challenge.
The University at Buffalo appointed Moises Sudit associate vice president for sponsored programs. Sudit, an entrepreneur, professor and center director, will oversee UB’s Sponsored Projects Services and the Office of Research Advancement. He will be a member of the senior leadership team of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development. Sudit joined UB’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences as an assistant professor in 1988. He currently is a professor in the school’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and executive director of UB’s Center for Multisource Information Fusion. He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, a master’s in operations research from Stanford University and a doctorate from Purdue University.
Canine Kennels of Clarence recently celebrated its grand opening. The new facility, owned and operated by Jim and Maria Binner, is located at 9785 County Road in Clarence.
LPCiminelli was named construction manager for the Empire Outlets project on Staten Island by BFC Partners. The Empire Outlets project will include 340,000 square feet of retail space, with about 100 designer outlet retailers and a 1,250-space structured parking garage. The team will begin work on the core and shell, with the retail tenant fit-out to follow.
The New York State Office of General Services awarded Mark Cerrone of Niagara Falls a $1,820,700 contract for construction work at Collins Correctional Facility.
