School Board’s legal fees are an insult to taxpayers
As a taxpayer, I am truly amazed how these educated elected officials run to lawyers rather than trying to resolve their disputes in house.
Most folks who had a personal beef with a co-worker would meet with their supervisor or union representative to iron out their differences.
The solution to these expensive childlike and baseless lawsuits is to require the person filing the suit to pay the legal expenses.
I am quite sure if the cost hit them in their personal pocket – as opposed to the taxpayers, who incidentally receive little or no bang for their buck from this foolishness – the practice would more than likely be curtailed.
Donald Ogilvie was spot on when he stated that a lot of teachers could be hired for $780,000. The business is educating students, isn’t it?
